On July 2, 2018, Bannon asked about DefCon and Black Hat, and Epstein replied with a description of conference tradecraft: "every sophisticated intelligence agency has its insertions in the crowd. chinese especially, how do you think they get the hacks. they are not creative, they convince the spectrum boys to play a game, as the boys are socially retarded they just play and give up their secrets re the kernel (not colonel). there is also an exchange for money for what is known as zero day exploits" 1112. Bannon asked whether he could get an invitation to speak at the conferences 11. On cyber topics Epstein presented the subject-matter material; on White House personnel, Bannon did.
The Wolff Channel, 2017
During 2017, before direct Bannon–Epstein contact is documented, Michael Wolff corresponded with Jeffrey Epstein while researching Fire and Fury 5. Cross-reference of the 2017 Bannon-related email traffic indicates Wolff was the channel through which that material reached Epstein 2. On April 27, 2017, Wolff emailed Epstein "Was with Bannon last night who was saying how much Trump liked deputy crown prince" — a reference to Mohammed bin Salman during the pre-Khashoggi period 56. On August 14, 2017, during the West Wing struggle that preceded Bannon's August 18 departure, Wolff wrote: "McMaster and Murdoch met on Friday. Murdoch on the phone all weekend briefing against SB. Im tooting with him now. Hes not letting on that hes worried" 78. By Wolff's own account in that message, he was physically with Bannon when he sent the note about Murdoch's activity 7.
Wolff also analyzed the Bannon relationship in emails to Epstein 28. On January 13, 2018, when the Stormy Daniels story surfaced, Wolff wrote "Porn star - I think thats a Bannon leak" 29. After Page Six published an August 2018 item about Bannon trying "to get on disgraced Jeffrey Epstein's good side," Wolff asked "Harmless. Do you think Bannon spilled?" Epstein replied "doorman"; Wolff responded "you should pay him off" 3031. Bannon's principal post-White House initiative was "The Movement," an effort to build a pan-European populist alliance 15. In March 2018, Bannon emailed Epstein from Italy: "My interview today lead page 1 story in largest paper in country. Heading to milan now to meet w salvini" 1532. Epstein tracked the tour in contemporaneous messages and proposed additional target countries in a single string — "kazaks mongolians senagleze austria norway strassberg osama Slovak montegegro ivory coast dubai qatr saudi kuwait yemen eritrea ethiopia kenya tunisia moldova" 1516. Benjamin Harnwell, director of the Dignitatis Humanae Institute at 44 Via delle Fornaci in Rome, forwarded Italian coverage of The Movement to Bannon, who routed it on to Epstein 1533.
Epstein brokered several introductions tied to the European track. In November 2018 he arranged a London and Oxford meeting between Bannon and Eduardo Teodorani-Fabbri, an Italian-American financial intermediary who appears throughout the Epstein correspondence 13. In the same month Epstein introduced Bannon to Jabor Al Thani by email — "Steve jabor - jabor - steve" — a Qatari contact who had been routing SoftBank-related material to Epstein since October 2016 13. These introductions placed Bannon at the junction of Epstein's Gulf and European contacts during the post-Khashoggi period 13.
A June 2019 iMessage captures Bannon asking Epstein directly: "Do u know anyone in Europe that wants to control the European Parliament and with it the EU — I need to get serious about taking on soros." Epstein replied: "There are lots of issues around this. Not for text" 3418. Analysis of the broader thread shows the two discussed Gulf politics, George Nader's arrest, and cyber-tradecraft on the same iMessage platform without similar caveats 3422, so Epstein's "not for text" restriction was specific to the European-influence topic rather than a general operational rule 34.

On March 15, 2018, Bannon joined a dinner with Terje Rod-Larsen, then president of the International Peace Institute, and an additional guest named Berge 1335. The pattern continued through spring 2018 13. On April 25, Bannon dined with Lajcak again. On April 26, the scheduled guests were Woody Allen and Soon-Yi Previn, "and maybe Steve Bannon" 1337. On May 11, Epstein sent himself a scheduling note listing "miro chomsky urenller bannon ehud terje" — Lajcak, Noam Chomsky, Ruemmler, Bannon, Barak, and Rod-Larsen — in a single entry 13. On January 19, 2018, after a lunch, Epstein had introduced Bannon to Tom Pritzker, chairman of Hyatt Hotels and the Center for Strategic and International Studies, by email: "steve tom tom steve you guys figure it out" 13. Epstein also arranged a March 24, 2018 breakfast for Bannon with Reid Weingarten, a white-collar defense attorney, with a follow-up breakfast scheduled for July 2019 13.
The Chomsky introduction unfolded across roughly nine months 14. On May 13, 2018, Chomsky wrote to Bannon via Epstein: "Jeffrey gave me your address, quite disappointed to have missed you the other night" 1438. By October 2018, Epstein was copying Chomsky and Bannon on the same message, writing "Steve Bannon who is copied on this email and I will come see you when you are back in arizona" 14. In February 2019, a Bannon–Chomsky meeting in Tucson was arranged, with Valeria Chomsky replying "we look forward to meeting you" 1439. The breadth of the guest list across the dinner sequence — diplomats, a former head of government, a sitting UN body president, attorneys, a hotel-chain chairman, and an American linguist — indicates the role 9 East 71st Street played as a shared point of access rather than a single-issue salon 1314.
Documentary Project and Payments
The documented Bannon–Epstein film collaboration extends from at least July 2018 through June 2019, and, according to NBC News reporting cited in Finding #1228, involved approximately 15 hours of filmed interviews with Epstein 4041. The first phase involved Bannon's own films. On July 23, 2018, Bannon emailed his producer Dan Fleuette "Get link to brother epstein asap" for the documentary American Carnage, which was shared via Vimeo with a password 4142. Epstein gave scene-level feedback, including "burning flag not relevant, john waynes beard explain, no one cares about Andrew family" 4143. Bannon wrote that Ari Emanuel had financed the film and that it was "officially in Venice Toronto and New York Film Festival" 4144. In August 2018, Bannon asked for the latest version of his subsequent film Trump@War to be sent to Epstein through Sean Bannon's ProtonMail 41.
The second phase concerned Epstein himself. According to NBC News reporting, Bannon described a three-phase image strategy for Epstein as "first we need to push back on the lies; then crush the pedo/trafficking narrative; then rebuild your image as philanthropist" 40. According to the same NBC account, Bannon arranged "media training" sessions at Epstein's residence marked "totally confidential," and Epstein's representatives used what Bannon called a "script" in responding to The New Yorker 40. Epstein also funded Bannon travel and sent gifts 1720. In May 2019, Epstein's staff booked AmEx Centurion flights for Bannon, Fleuette, and Dain Valverde from St. Thomas to Bergen, Norway via Fort Lauderdale, noting "if anyone gets a biz seat it would be Bannon" 1719. Portions of the June 3, 2019 iMessage thread address then-active federal proceedings against George Nader, who had been arrested for child pornography in Dulles, Virginia 2122. After Epstein shared a CNN link about the arrest, Bannon replied "Not cool" 21. Epstein wrote "Mandatory minimum 15" 21. When Bannon speculated "MBZ must have coughed him up," Epstein replied: "Nope. He actually literally had pictures of some kid fucking a goat. true!!!" 21. On December 6, 2018, Richard Kahn of HBRK Associates forwarded Epstein a Daily Beast article covering Bannon's Senate Intelligence Committee testimony on Cambridge Analytica 49 48.
